Derby Triathlon 2018

On Sunday, Keenan and Moriah did their second triathlon! This one was only 15 minutes from our house, much better than last year's one in Hutchison.

When we headed out (before 6), the weather was terrible - rain, thunder, etc and we didn't know if the race was even going to happen!   By the time we got all their stuff situated though, it was looking much better.

Keenan's spot in transition

It was hard to get pictures of the pool portion, since the kids were pretty far from us, and there was a fence in the way.   First they did all the 7-10 year olds, and then the 11-14 year olds went after.

Moriah's turn!

In she goes!

Her swim was 50 meters

There she is in the background, sprinting to transition

Off she goes!

On one of her bike loops
(Her bike distance was 4 miles)

Keenan's turn!

He's such a great swimmer

Headed for transition

Moriah finishing up her 1/2 mile run

C'mon, girl!

All done!!
(We didn't realize her medal was turned around here)

His total time was 41:48
Swim was 2:31 - 19th out of 39
Bike was 26:47 - 22nd out of 39
Run was 9:43 - 18th out of 39

50 meter swim, 4 mile bike, 1/2 mile run

She placed 24th overall, out of 64 in the 7-10 category

Philip went in to work later that day, and the kids and I were just exhausted from the busy week, so we spent a quiet evening at home...

Awesome job on the triathlon Keenan and Moriah! I'm so proud of you for all your training and your determination and the fact that you finished - and your times too, but really for ALL that goes along with it!

Love you both,
Auntie Bekah <3
