Canada Day/Farewell Stephens

Canada day here was not particularly patriotic or celebratory, but it was a fun day as a family, nonetheless.

Well, it was mostly fun.   The morning was bittersweet as we went to the airport to see off our friends, Todd, Dawnita and Tam who are headed to France and then on to West Africa for the next year!   We got to spend some special time and prayer with them before they headed through security.

I love this one of Moriah and Tam!

The three of them

Todd and Dawnita

What a sweet friend and encourager Dawnita has been to me, I will miss her so much!

On our way out, we ran into Andrew, our friend and Via Christi grad from last year, who had been in town for the week.

In the afternoon, we took the kids to the theater to see the brand new Despicable Me movie.   We all loved it!! =)

After dinner we all went for a 3.5 mile walk.   We're trying to make a point of getting in exercise that is going to help us on our hikes on our big state parks trip in September!
