Day Ten, Home!!

We got an early start this morning, leaving our hotel shortly after 4 am! Our first flight was at 6:39 and we landed in Wichita at 10am!

As soon as we got out of the van to take our stuff into the airport, Caleb puked.  On Mickey. =0/ Thankfully he didn't puke anymore the rest of the day, though!

Sleepy girl on the way to Atlanta

Since coming home from a great vacation can be kind of a bummer, Philip and I had planned a welcome home surprise for the kids:

After the long walk to the van, they found a banner and present waiting for them!

Woohoo!

Treats from the Nifty Nut House

...and their trusty Disney buddies were waiting with a message and reward for helping unpack =)

We unloaded the van, then Moriah and I went to load up on groceries and Philip and the boys got things put away and laundry going!    Then it was time for lunch and naps for ALL!

So good to be home!

Wow.  What an AMAZING vacation!    This was probably The best vacation we have taken yet.   There are several reasons for that:

1) (like Rebekah said), the anticipation was so great that even before we left, it was already fun! =)

2)  Unlike our usual vacations, we spent most of the time just as a family, enjoying being with each other, instead of staying with famil(ies) the whole time.

3) It didn't seem too short!   Since it was nine days long, it really felt long enough and we were able to enjoy every minute of it.

4) (This is probably the most important one) Philip did Such a phenomenal job of planning every detail of it that we were able to make the Most of the whole experience!    Our resorts were perfectly chosen (and we got just the right amount of time at each).    The break to visit family in the middle was well timed and needed.   The schedules that he set up for each day were well thought out and his methodical planning for Fast Passes and reservations at each park meant that we saw and did more each day than most people ever will!   I am so blessed to be married to him, and vacation planning is always a huge reminder of that =)

5) Disney doesn't do anything halfway.   Every detail of everything is so well planned and thought out that they make it as smooth, beautiful, delicious and Fun as possible!    I could do an entire post on just decor at Disney, but I won't.   (I will say that, at one of the golf courses, Moriah pointed out that even the drain cover in the bathroom floor had Mickey on it) =)

We are so thankful to have been able to take this trip.   It turned out to be even More fun than we had hoped and it was truly magical (for all of us, but especially the kids!)   What wonderful memories we will have from this trip together!

A gorgeous day, and dinner cooked on our new grill and eaten outside.  Gosh, it's good to be home!

Day Nine, Wrap up at Epcot and Hollywood Studios

After our busy day at Magic Kingdom the day before, we took this one a little easier. Philip went to the conference in the morning and the kids and I slept in, and then I got caught up a bit on blogging while they watched some Disney cartoons. We got on the bus and went to meet Philip at Epcot (to do a couple things we hadn't had time to do earlier in the week).

The kids got pretty good at riding Disney transportation =)

While Philip took the kids to ride Test Track (a ride where you digitally design your own race car, and then see how it competes for performance, power, etc against other cars.... and then ride a car around an outdoor track at almost 65 miles an hour!)    Caleb was pretty teary at first and then fell asleep on me...

... which we later found out was because he was sick.    The poor kid puked twice that day, had a pretty high fever and took about four naps =0/

Then we headed over to "Canada" to see the Lumberjack show...

Sleepy kids

While we waited, Philip took the older kids to find a virtual geocache nearby.

This is where it was

Gorgeous flowers!
One of the best things about Epcot is their gardens!   Just phenomenal!

The lumberjack show
They did axe throwing, log splitting, two man sawing and...

Log rolling!

Down goes Blue!

Next we had a delicious lunch at The Land and rode Soarin', a ride that makes you feel like you're flying in a hang glider over lots of American landmarks, complete with wind, smells and sounds.  Really fun!

After that, we hurried over to Hollywood Studios to catch the Lights, Motors, Action!  Stunt show!   Philip and I had seen this, and we had also taken the kids when they were really young, but we knew they would really enjoy it at this age!

A new guest to the show was Lighting McQueen!   How fun!

Here is one of the exciting sequences.    A stunt car races into the back of a large truck, up a ramp inside...

...across to the roof of a fruit truck,

...and straight off the end!

There's a giant air bag back there that the car lands on, so cool!

Motorcycle chase

His bike slipped and he slide through the fire!

Man on fire!  (After about 10 seconds he has to hit the ground and be sprayed out or the suit gets too hot and dangerous inside)

These two Loved it!

Grand Finale!

After this, Caleb and I took the bus back to Old Key West, and Philip took the older kids to pick up our rental van at the hotel where his conference was.    Here are some pictures of his:

The huge dancing fountain on the way out of Epcot
(the water probably shoots at least 40 feet in the air!)

The one picture I took of the Outside of our resort!

Tired sick boy asleep on the couch with Mickey

Here are some phone pictures Philip took when he and the kids went to Downtown Disney to the huge World of Disney Store (where Keenan chose his souvenir, a Star Wars Light Saber), and the world's largest Lego Store!

 World of Disney

Some fun pictures inside the Lego store:

 Bunnies and carrots

 Fish

 Hulk is pretty scary!

Moriah with one of the characters from Lego Friends

 I Love this one! =)

Moriah thought they should buy this Minnie dress for me (it was over $50!)  =)

Keenan and Moriah's favorite thing of the day was the stunt show at Hollywood Studios.
Caleb's was...probably being snuggled up on the couch watching cartoons with Mickey when we finally got back to the resort.

Whew!  Time to pack up and hit the hay for our early flight home!

Day Eight, Magic Kingdom with the whole Family!

Matt, Jessica, Reagan, Hudson, Adilyn and Mom and Isaac joined us for a day at Magic Kingdom!

Unfortunately, it was quite rainy when we set out, so we were all decked out in ponchos (Philip picked up a bunch so we wouldn't just get drenched right off the bat like the last time it rained!)

A stylish picture on the way to the park

Adilyn - doesn't she make a raincoat look good? =)

The two littlest cuties

The whole wet group!

Despite the rain, we plugged away and did a ton of rides all morning including Space Mountain, The Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Splash Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight, .  The rain helped keep the crowds and lines down, so that was a blessing!

After lunch, I headed back to the resort with Moriah and Caleb for them to take naps (and for us to get dry socks, etc!)   It was a nice break in the day.   The rest of them enjoyed Tom Sawyer's Island, It's A Small World, Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Tomorrowland Speedway, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor.

Caleb got to meet Mickey one on one!

Sweet hug

A little timid, but Very happy!
(Mickey even talked to him and told him that his shoes looked like good bouncing ones, and did he want to bounce with him?)

Our five (all dry now!)

With Cinderella's Castle

Matt and Jess and crew

Mom and Isaac

Mom and her kids

We surprised Moriah with a meet and greet with Rapunzel and Cinderella!

Talking about how their hair matches

Her hair was gorgeous!

Love this!

Cinderella!!!

They are so sweet to take time with each girl

Happy girl

Then we rode The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover.

Caleb riding Dumbo with Uncle Isaac

All lit up

The older kids rode Space Mountain one more time and we ended the night with fireworks at 10 pm!    The kids held up amazingly well!!

Caleb had the best spot

Disney does a phenomenal job - probably the prettiest fireworks I've ever seen.   They also light up the castle in all different colors...   This is narrowed down already, but I couldn't choose between these ones! =)

We were positioned really well for the fireworks, so were able to get out of their super quickly and smoothly before the crowds - what a blessing!   What a full, fun day with our family!   Thank you all for joining us!

Keenan's favorite ride of the day was Space Mountain.
Moriah's favorite was meeting the princesses =)
Caleb's favorite ride was Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
