For the Birds

Someone gave us a bag of stale popcorn a couple days ago and asked if we'd like to give it to the birds sometime. I figured the kids would like that, so we went to Lincoln Park today to try it out.

There were no birds very close to the shore, but I threw a handful of popcorn up in the air... AND THEY CAME!!

Away they go...

Love this one!

Big Smiles!

Nice jump, Riah!

Belated Birthday Lunch With Myrtle

It has become tradition to go out to eat with Myrtle to celebrate her birthday (on the 14th) and Philip's birthday (on the 15th), since they are one day and exactly 50 years apart in age.   This year, since we've all been so sick, we had to postpone that for a few days and just went out with her this past Tuesday.  Philip was post call, so he was home and it was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL day of the year so far.  It couldn't have been more perfect.    We had lunch on the patio of the Boathouse Landing, an awesome restaurant super close to our house.   The air was warm, the birds were chirping, the view was gorgeous, the kids were sweet (for the most part), the sweet tea was divine, the conversation was great, the hush puppies crisp and the food delicious!

For Years, I thought I didn't like catfish, but I decided to order it (since it was one of the specials) and it was AWESOME!!

So sweet

We. Love. Myrtle.   We will miss her Desperately when we move (and secretly wish she would just come with us).   What a blessing she has been to our family!

After naps, we got in the van and drove to Destin and surprised the kids at the... LEGO movie!  (The best part was that we had bought movie tickets with our play pass!)

We all loved it! =)

In 1492...

Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
And in 2014, in month number two,
Under a sky so blue,
We got to see his ship, too!

The Nina, an exact replica of Columbus' ship, and the Pinta, a slightly larger one, were docked in Fort Walton beach yesterday!    We were thrilled to have the opportunity to go check them out!

All of us in front of the Pinta

I just loved all the ropes and authentic rigging

Moriah thought this bundle of rope looked like a beehive =)

More rope =)

A great flag
