Good Friends

In case any of you are wondering how I'm doing in the wake of "The Great Wifia Exodus"... I am so blessed! I have not been left lonely. =) I am surrounded by good friends here! Rebekah and Brittny are the ones I have spent the most time with so far, and I am also blessed to have many other resident and staff wives here at Eglin that are my friends. My MOPS group is amazing and is another great source of encouragement, fun and friendships. God is so good. =)

Speaking of the wifia - they are all doing great as well!

Jodi has found North Dakota to be unexpectedly beautiful and welcoming.
Andrea is already in a great community of friends, church, preschool, MOPS, etc in California.
Tiffany is right at home in her new community in the Promised Land (aka Texas).
Wendi has found life in Turkey to be an amazing adventure that she is loving.
Sarah has embraced Japan and has already been traveling, blogging, and getting Della signed up with a modeling agency!
They rock!!

Jus' a couple things

Not a super lot of news in our house today...

Moriah had a doctor's appointment today... She has gained a whole pound and is now back on a healthy growth curve! Yay! =0)

Keenan is still rocking the potty training!

I am already planning Moriah's birthday party (in Dec)! LOL!

A Good Day All Around

Lots of reasons to be joyful in our house these days!

#1. Keenan had a Perfect scoring potty training day today with NO accidents! I am thrilled out of my mind and sooo proud. =)

#2. Keenan and I went to church together (Moriah wasn't feeling well so Philip stayed home with her) and then had an ice cream cone date afterward. It was very sweet and fun.

#3. Keenan and Moriah are finally starting to really play well together and be sweet and loving to each other - and I LOVE it! Today they were in his room and he was "reading the Bible" to her (aka telling her what the pictures in his children's Bible mean to Him!) Very funny to listen to...

#4. We went for a family bike ride this afternoon and it was Really fun! The first one we've had where all four of us actually enjoyed it. This was largely due to the fact that Moriah actually now Fits her helmet and was able to ride in a seat on my bike, instead of having to sit in the bike trailer with Keenan. =)

I found them reading together yesterday in Keenan's bed: =)

Also - just have to share these because I think she's just too sweet in this pettiskirt:
(Will post about them soon on Sugar and Spice!)

RAIN!!

Brittny and I attempted a yard sale at her house this morning, but alas... the wet weather chased away all but a few lookers... =0/ However, we had a great time hanging out and eating fresh donuts and cinnamon rolls, and taking cute picture of Sophie, so all was not lost. =)

Then we went to a birthday party... and it rained there too! It was still a lot of fun though, here's some pics:

Potty Training!!

While a lot of you are probably shocked that we haven't done this yet, we are comfortable in our decision to wait.

We started yesterday afternoon and had one success and a couple of accidents before bed last night and then today was pretty rough going for the morning until nap time. I was finding it extremely emotionally draining (being frustrated on the inside and trying to be totally encouraging on the outside). I decided we'd regroup after nap and make a decision at that point. Keenan has done So well since then and has had NO accidents! He has been amazing and we are SO proud of him! We celebrated with pizza and a movie of his choice tonight. =)

Man, who would have ever thought you could get such an adrenaline rush from hearing your child peeing on the potty? =0)

MOPS has begun!

Another season of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) has started! We have a great group this year and lots of new members! I'm soo excited about the year ahead!

I am the MOPPETS Coordinator this year, which means I'm in charge of getting volunteers to help our staff out with childcare, and make sure things run smoothly with kid drop offs and getting everyone settled and happy in the right rooms. I still have much to learn, but it's fun!

Not a great picture of either kid, but this is them all ready to head in for their first day - both of them were in brand new groups today!

This is how I found Moriah at the end... =)

Catchin' up

I didn't take very many pictures this weekend and we didn't do a whole lot, besides hang out here, play in the pool, and keep inside out of the rain. Philip was on call all weekend and we didn't see very much of him either!

Here are some pictures from yesterday and today:

Snuggled up on the couch during the thunderstorm

Love this!

Who wouldn't want to spend a storm with these two??

Being all snuggly today, all on their own (before I ever said a word about the camera!)
Thankfully, their sweet moments together are getting more and more frequent - very exciting!!

We went with Rebekah and her kids to Emerald City Gymnastics this morning - way fun!

Moriah's perfect form on the trampoline =)

I might have a little gymnast on my hands!

It's 9:30 PM and I just returned from a trip to Wal-Mart... by myself. Aaahhh... it was so nice.

Vote for a great cause!

Several of my good friends have kids that go to the school talked about below, it would mean a lot to me and them if you Facebook users out there would vote for their school (and it's great cause)... see below:

Kohl's Cares Facebook Competition - Shalimar Elementary Needs Your Help

I received a request to share this information with you. I think it is a great cause so I am happy to help! I had not heard of the Kohl's Cares program until today, but after checking it out and reading this school's story I do hope they win one of the 20 cash prizes. See info below:

The Shalimar Elementary story:

Coach Collins was a friend and mentor to many people at that school and for years she was trying to gain grants to build the school a new track. While trying to access funding she organized and ran many events that were tailored to teach students and their family members the importance of Physical Education. This past June, Coach Collins passed away suddenly while participating in her first local triathlon. This contest is a way for the community to not only achieve her dream, but preserve her memory with a track dedicated to her dedication and drive for her love of the school.

Voting ends Sept. 3rd and in order to vote, you would need to go to “Kohls” on Facebook and like their page. On the “Kohls Cares” tab you can navigate to the application. After joining the app, you can utilize this link to go directly to Shalimar Elementary (Okaloosa County, FL).

They are currently in the #50 spot and will need a ton of votes to get in the top 20 by September 3. You can vote up to 5 times for the school and all users get 20 votes. Whoever you choose to vote for, I think this is a great program that Kohl's is running! Click here to vote. Happy voting!

New Pics on Photo Blog

I just put a few pictures up on my photo blog from the farm!

Interesting day

Rebekah and I were going to take our kids to the Emerald Coast Gymnastics this morning for the free play time, but.... due to the fact that she drilled a hole in her thigh with a 1/4 inch drill bit... we ended up hanging out at her house instead, waiting to hear back on whether she should come in for stitches or not. (She was working on a tv stand that they're building themselves - so cool, I am soo not into wood working). Fortunately she didn't need stitches, and we ended up having a great morning together! The boys played in the pool, and then we had some amazing bbq chicken pizza that she had made - so good!!

After naps, I got our pool out for the kids (since, it seems, they can't get Enough pool time in one day... =)

Having fun while the pool was filling

Love this kid

Blue eyes

Funny, natural shot =)

Rebekah (W), this is for you - Moriah enjoying the huge lollipop she got at the cottage!

Philip came home from work at about 8:30 PM and just left to go back in (for who knows how long). He is working a 72 hour call shift right now - so I'm hoping he gets sleep at Some point!!

Oh, I almost forgot, last night we watched a Great movie, called, "To Save a Life". I Highly recommend it!

Mall Fun/Last Pics from our Trip

Due to bad weather, our plans to go to the park this morning were foiled, so we decided to go to the mall (with Rebekah and her kids) instead and let the kids run around and burn off some energy. It was fun! It's especially nice that the kids are still young enough to have fun playing on the coin operated cars/trucks etc, without knowing that they are supposed to have money put in them! =)

I am in Love with these $5 shoes and $3 leggings!
