Overall, we have had a great day! We got a super start (pulled out of the driveway at 4:15 am), and had good travels, fairly happy kids, and great driving conditions. We made it further than our estimated distance, and are spending the night in Dayton, OH.
We got the kids up in the dark, carried them right out to the van, got them all tucked in... and assumed they'd go right back to sleep... NOT! Moriah didn't go back to sleep for an hour, (and not for long), and Keenan only dozed for a very short time before the sun came up.
Moriah started puking pretty early on (weird, watery, bright yellow puke), and did this about every half hour for quite a while. Around 7, Keenan threw up, but I was fortunate enough to catch it in some wipes. Several hours later, they each had a "real, heavy duty throw up" which required the one driving to pull over and help clean up the aftermath. This resulted in two slightly gross car seats, 8 pieces of pukey clothing, 2 blankets and 1 bunny. Yuck!
In between (and after) all this, both kids seemed to be feeling pretty good though, until they each had one more miniature puking episode in the evening. Philip figures it must be some virus. Fortunately, he and I have both continued to feel pretty good.
We are thrilled to be in snowy land (not a lot, just few inches), but are Not enjoying the cold! All of our winter jackets are packed still....
We pulled into Dayton around 7, and Philip and Keenan took a quick dip in the hot tub before we headed out to grab some dinner. We then picked up some Shout (which I used on all the nasty clothes etc) and then headed back and got the kids in the bath and off to bed.
Please pray that we all get great sleep and that our day is puke free tomorrow! Can't wait to get to Canada (and are considering a short stop in MI on the way)!
Will be in touch from Ontario tomorrow night...
