Tough Stuff

Poor Keenan probably had the worst night of his life last night. Between the time that he went to bed and woke up this morning, he woke up crying three times with night terrors (each one took 10-15 minutes to calm him down), then he spent two hours awake, coughing, then took a trip to the ER with Philip that lasted from 1:45 AM until after 4!

He must have caught something while we were in Orlando because he was running a low grade fever last night and then got really wheezy and was unable to sleep at all, due to the frequent bouts of coughing he was having. While they were at the ER, they did a chest x-ray, did two breathing treatments and gave him some oral steroids. When they got back, he slept really well until the morning.

A little while after he woke up though, the coughing returned and the inhaler they had given us didn't really do the trick because Keenan didn't understand that he had to breath IN only in order to inhale the medicine.

I took him in to the hospital this morning to see Dr. Goodemote, and Philip did a breathing treatment with him there (between lots of crying and coughing and wondering why Daddy couldn't be with us every minute).

Then we had to go pick up a nebulizer machine at a medical supply place in Fort Walton Beach so we can do breathing treatments at home.

We stopped at Sonic on the way home (our week away from it, and the rough morning we'd had seemed to call for a visit). Keenan went down for a nap as soon as we got home, but only slept for 30 or 40 minutes before he woke up coughing again... =0/

Doing his first breathing treatment at home - the mask works Much better than the mouth piece he used at the hospital.

I think I may be catching what he has too... please pray for a swift recovery for Keenan and for this sickness to move on out of our house!

I have the same type of breathing treatment photo too of Isaac. He had to have them when he even younger than Keenan. I still have the breathing treatment paraphernalia here if you ever need extra stuff. Yes, the mask does work way better too. Sorry to hear he is having such a rough time. Give him gr'ma hugs for me.
