Hash, etc...

Did this title get your attention? (You'll have to keep reading to find out about the hash...)

Yesterday afternoon we went to visit Myrtle and enjoy the nice breeze while we chatted...

Picking more "berries" to put in his shoe

Myrtle giving him a jar to use instead =)

Moriah loves Myrtle!

A beautiful rose in her garden

I don't know what this plant is called, but I was amazed at how the raindrops looked like diamonds!

Moriah is just starting to pull up on a few things...

Since it was a beautiful day, we decided to pull out the bikes (for the first time in a long time) and take the kids for a ride!

Just before heading out

Keenan had a blast
(Moriah didn't have quite as much fun, as it turned out the helmet really was still a bit big, and she got a little cranky when it kept falling down)

We even did a little off roading!

Moriah fell asleep!

We ended at a school playground to let Keenan play for a while...

At the top of the slide

Coming down one of the curvy slides

This seems like a piece of playground equipment that should have been replaced by now - definitely wouldn't meet today's "safety standards"!

Me on the monkey bars

Moriah sitting up with Daddy (making Mommy a little nervous)

"I'm not afraid, Daddy's got me!"

Mid flip on the bar

I look like a troll!

Watching Keenan

This is Keenan taking a "kitten" down the slide that he saved from a tree =)

This afternoon we went to a "Hash". No, there were no drugs there, it was a gathering of third year residents and staff to "hash over" our upcoming base assignment choices. It was a great time, being able to listen to various staff members talk about bases they'd been to, what they liked, what they didn't like, what bases you DO NOT want to rank on your list, how to prepare for and deal with deployments, etc...

John and Wendi "split" a babysitter with us, and our friend, Kendra, came over to our house and watched Isaac and Keenan for a few hours while we were gone. The babies went with us.

For some reason, Moriah wanted some privacy while she drank her sippy cup

She was thrilled that her buddy Elijah brought toys!

Matt and 8 day old Reagan

Proud parents =)

This is Moriah's new favorite thing... what is she doing??

Random note: Last night we watched a movie called, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas". It was really good, although definitely not "light and happy". It gave a totally different view of the holocaust than I had ever seen portrayed before and was very intriguing.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas... Ahhh, so much I'd like to say! Mark and I loved it. I know what you mean about it not being light and happy, but we felt that we'd watched a worthwhie movie when it was over. I'm doing a Holocause Unit at school right now and am definitely going to show my 12 year olds this film. I especially appreciate that it's told from a very innocent (child's) view point, and although it's sad and gets the point across, it isn't bloody or gory or out for sensationalism. Anyway, I would highly recommend it as well :)

BTW, we used to have hash (all the vegetables and roast beef and gravy thrown into the frying pan and fried :P ) every Monday night, sp that's what I thought of when I saw the title :)

BTW, this is Rebekah! Love you, have a great weekend!
