The day sort of started and ended with trucks, but wasn't a common theme throughout.

It sorted of started off on a cranky note for all of us (I think it had to do with the fact that we ended the day last night without Philip here, and also started it this morning without him).

It did get better though, especially for Keenan when he got to paint this little wooden truck that we picked up at Wal-Mart last night and I promised him he could paint today.

How cute is it??

Artist hard at work
(I have to admit, it was actually pretty hard for me to let him paint it like this, and not just do it myself and make it really cute - but... "Original Keenan style" is way more meaningful and will be really fun to have around in a few years! =)

After Philip came home this afternoon and got a couple hours of sleep, he and Keenan played outside while Moriah and I went to the Commissary. (It was totally a "breather" for me, only having one kid!) =)

After I got back, they got the chalk out... and turned out some pretty cool stuff!

Keenan adding some final touches to their fleet of trucks

Look how sweaty he is!

To say he was covered in chalk wouldn't really be an exaggeration

I was very impressed with these trucks Philip drew!

And by the way... my husband was surprised at morning report today (wearing scrubs, and having not shaved since yesterday morning) to be awarded the Squadron CGO (Company Grade Officer) of the Quarter. (CGO's are Second Lieutenants, First Lieutenants and Captains.)
This means that his flight commander wrote up a nomination, including some of the things Philip has been working on in the last three months, and submitted it to the squadron leadership. The Medical Group CGO will be selected next week out of the five squadron winners. Yay, Philip!
