Movin' on up...

This afternoon, Philip's grandma, Eva Taylor, went home to be with her Lord (and to join her husband, Carl, who went on ahead of her twenty years ago). She was 95 years old and, until fairly recently has been healthy and independent. The past few months she was blessed with wonderful care by several of her children. While her son, Dave, played Amazing Grace on his saxophone, she passed away peacefully and painlessly in a hospice facility near Mom and Jeff's home.

She was quite the amazing woman. I only had the pleasure of knowing her for six years, but she was a joy to know. She had a great sense of humor and quick wit and loved to cook! I remember the first couple of times Philip and I visited her... no matter what time we got there (11 pm), she would want us to sit down and have a meal! =) What a generous and giving woman.

She had seven children, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren!!

Philip's mom, Kathleen (the baby of the seven) with her mom in April

With Moriah, her youngest great grandchild

Philip and I are so grateful that we were able to visit with Grandma in April while we were in the area. It was a wonderful, sweet visit, and we look forward to seeing her again someday!

Jeff's dad, Roger, is also close to "going home". He has been on hospice at home (in Ohio) for the past week. Please pray for both Mom and Jeff at this time as they are losing so much all at once.
