Well, all three of us survived our first day without Philip fairly well. =)
I'm doing my own "C4" course here at home - Comedic Child-Caused Chaos.
After breakfast, I made Keenan a fort, with blankets over the dining room chairs. Then we read books, played with blocks (and didn't change out of our pajamas).
Keenan went down for a nap around 11:30, and Jodi stopped by shortly after that and brought us dinner (baked spaghetti!) How awesome is that?
She and I had a great visit while Keenan napped, and then he got to play with her for a little while before she left.
I didn't do a speck of cleaning or laundry until this evening (Jodi can attest to that!)
This afternoon we went on base to the Commissary, dropped off some recycling and then played at the park for a while.
The rest of the evening has been taken up with doing puzzles, eating dinner, making a huge pile of pillows for Keenan to jump off of chairs into, and then bath, pj's, Bible and bed time.
Philip called this afternoon and then again this evening. He and Lance (and maybe some others?) got bumped up to first class on one of their flights, since there was space and they were in uniform. Pretty nice!
He said he's pretty much settled in. He's sharing a large room with about eleven other people. They each get a cot and a small area beside it for their duffle, their vortex gear (super warm camo), and their M16. Yes, my husband will be packing heat all week!
Apparently a lot of the tents that they would be using during their "field time" have extensive damage still from the last tropical storm, so they'll be coming back to their current lodging, instead of sleeping outside! (I'm so happy for them!)
