Great Moms Walk

Our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group is doing a fundraiser in a couple weeks called the Great Moms Walk. We are each supposed to aim for $100 in donations.

Those of you who know me well, know that I don't feel comfortable asking people for money, and thankfully the Lord has provided the way for me to go on several missions trips in the past without having to do this.

So... Instead of writing or emailing anyone personally, I thought I would just post about this (today and only today), and if anyone wants to be involved, they can email me at:

This years’ walk is May 10, 2008 at Ferry Park in Fort Walton Beach, FL. With donations to Mothers of Preschoolers, we will be able to reach more moms in our area. Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) currently has fourteen groups in our area this year and we look forward to having many other mothers in the local community join us for our Walk. I have personally benefitted as a member of MOPS. The meetings every other week give me a two and a half hour "breath of fresh air", as I connect with other moms, make new friends, hear that others are going through what I'm going through, and most importantly, get reminded of what God's plan is in this path of motherhood that I have chosen. We not only support each other At the MOPS meetings, but are also there for each other if someone is sick, or has had a new baby, and are ready to show up on the doorstep with dinner and a smile.

MOPS International is a non-profit organization that reaches out to all mothers of preschool aged children regardless of race, faith, or socioeconomic background. MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs. MOPS stands committed to the continuing education and enrichment of all mothers of preschoolers. One of the reasons we’ve chosen a local walk is to emphasize the importance good physical health is for a busy mom of preschoolers. By supporting our Walk, you will allow us to serve and support the mothers here in Fort Walton Beach and its surrounding communities.

If you wish to donate, please let me know before May 8th. All donations to MOPS are tax deductible. Please make your check payable to SUMC with MOPS Walk in the memo section.

We are grateful for any support that you can provide and I thank you for your consideration in this matter! Thank you from our mothers and their families for supporting them in bettering their parenting skills and enriching their families’ lives.

Because Better Moms Make a Better World
