Jus' us three

We had a nice Sunday together. After Philip slept, I got to take a nap, while he and Keenan had some "Daddy" time. Then we went to Fort Walton Beach and did some running around, and then grabbed dinner at Subway (we Love that place!) The coolest thing we picked up today was... A new bouncy seat!! (Thanks Mom and Jeff!) Woohoo! Order has been restored to the Dooley home! =)

Not much else to report. My mom comes in ten days!! =)

Just thought I'd include this link that was sent to me today... we found it pretty funny. Fight for Kisses

Family's gone, Philip's home

The family all left this morning after a wonderful, but way too short visit. They are now headed to Tennessee for a week of vacation.

Philip got home a little while ago. He actually got some sleep while on call last night, so he's only planning on going to bed for a couple hours now.

Last night we got Chinese food and went and had dinner with Philip in one of the conference rooms at the hospital.

Here's us eating, and everyone trying to figure out what all the formulas on the board meant (Philip was not with us yet, but did explain it when he got back)

Erik's turn with photo booth... funny stuff!

This one's my favorite of him

Cute brothers =)

This is kind of hard to read, it's an excerpt out of Isaac's journal
It says "Keynan is cute. He is my nefu. Philip and Joia are my brother and sissy, they are fun!"

Water fun

We just got back from the splash park. The weather was Perfect (just hot enough that we needed to keep getting back in the water to cool off.) There wasn't very many other people there either, so that was nice (sometimes it's pretty crowded).

Keenan napped for the first part while we all got wet and then woke up in time to join us for some fun. Isaac had fun over at the playground too before we left.

This is a hilarious thing that Keenan just started doing the past few days! Mom was actually able to catch it on video!

First day of family visit

Mom, Jeff, Erik and Isaac arrived here safely last night. They had a seven (+) hour drive to get here and were pretty tired, but glad to finally get here.

Here's Uncle Isaac and Keenan getting reacquainted (playing peek a boo)

We introduced them to "photo booth" on our computer, and Isaac was addicted. Here's some of our favorites:

Now here's a "twisted" family for ya...

What is he, thirteen??

This afternoon we're planning to head over to the splash park on Eglin, to let Isaac and Keenan play and cool off. Hopefully we'll be able to take Philip some dinner and visit with him later.

Some firsts for me

Today the girl's lunch was here. I made clam chowder for the first time ever and it was really good! (If I had known how easy it was, I totally would have made it before now!) We also had (delicious, gooey) grilled cheese sandwiches made by Wendi, a salad from Jodi, carrots and dip from Tiffany, blueberry scones and cookies from Sarah, strawberry cheesecake from Andrea, and I made a oreo dessert as well... lots of good stuff!

I had no idea until today that you could buy tea bags that are specially made for iced tea! I was asking Sarah how she makes her iced tea (because I really like it), and she told me about the iced tea bags. They're amazing! You can make iced tea in cold water in like five minutes! (All of you out there who already knew this are going to think I'm pretty dumb...) =)

I also noticed (yes, for the first time, after living here for four months), that when the microwave stops, the digital screen says "Enjoy Your Meal", how sweet is that? =) Maybe everyone's says that, but I had never noticed before, and found it pretty amusing.

Mom, Jeff, Eric and Isaac are on their way here right now and should be cruisin' in here pretty soon. Unfortunately, Philip will hardly get to see them at all during their visit, since they leave Sunday morning, and Philip is on call all day tomorrow until Sunday.. =0/

Keenan is finally mastering the skill of putting his own pacifier back in his mouth...

Sometimes it just doesn't go in quite right..

Fun at the Dooley's

Today has been a good day.

Keenan and I went to MOPS this morning. It was nice to be able to go this time, because, (since I had only been one time before), I didn't really feel like I knew the people in my group very well. They are all super nice!

Well, it seems that Keenan is growing and learning new things every day. I sat him in his crib while I tidied his room today, and I looked up and he was doing this!

"I'm gettin' outta here!"

(Looks like as soon as he can get himself from a lying position to a sitting one, we're going to have to lower the mattress!) =)

"I'm helping Mama with laundry..."

Philip just headed out to get blizzards (yay!) and we're actually going to watch a movie tonight (quite the rarity around here).

I'm hosting the girl's brunch/lunch tomorrow. They haven't been here in quite a long time, so I'm looking forward to that - they're so much fun! Tomorrow is a "two dessert day", so it'll be good! =)

Mom, Jeff and Isaac are coming tomorrow evening for the weekend, woohoo! We haven't seen them in waay too long! Keenan is a totally different baby now! It should be really fun..=)

The bananas were a complete "no go" today, maybe we'll have more luck tomorrow. At his size, he really Needs to be eating food!! =)

Yay for big boy stuff...

Today (at the doctor's recommendation) I bought Keenan's first fruit baby foods! Since he won't take the rice cereal at all, she said we should try it mixed with fruit. As I'm typing, Philip is in the dining room with Keenan, trying the new combination out. (We figure, since Keenan is used to just getting milk from me, he might take Other food easier from Philip). I don't hear any screaming.. that seems good.

On a sad note...the bouncy seat (which has had a lot to do with Philip and I retaining some sanity) has met it's demise... It seemed a little bent to one side (probably from Keenan trying to climb off of it), and when we tried to bend it back, it just snapped... It's a sad day in the Dooley house. We'll miss you dear friend! =0/

Well, Philip just called me in to take some pictures, and he actually was able to get Keenan to eat the rice cereal I made And the little jar of bananas! Yay Daddy! =)

Here's how Keenan looked at the end (thankfully we waited to bathe him until After...)

"Well, I gave Daddy a little more than he bargained for here!"

"So, are we almost done with this stuff?"

Just an update from his doctor's appointment: He now weighs 20 lbs, 13 oz and is 27.75 inches long. He's in the 10th percentile...for 1 year olds!! =)

Our Anniversary Date

Philip and I had a wonderful evening!

We dropped Keenan off with Jodi at 6:15 and then drove to Destin to Bonefish Grill. Neither of us had been there before, but it came highly recommended, so Philip wanted to try it out. The inside was really nice (great ambiance), and the food was fantastic! We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer (which was quite spicy, but delicious), and Philip had the Mahi Mahi Rockefeller and I had the Atlantic Swordfish. It was so nice to have a couple hours to ourselves, and discover that we Can actually talk about something besides Keenan! =)

At Cliff and Jodi's before we left
(thank you guys SO much!)

(which we actually did eat with the chopsticks)

Us and our food

When we got home, I decided to pull my dress out and see if it still fits. I put it on on our first anniversary, but not our second (since I was pregnant), so I thought I'd see if it still fits three years out...

I guess so!
(I had Philip take this one, because I realized when I was looking at our wedding pictures that there's only like One picture with the train on!)

With my roses - one for each year

For those of you who don't know, my Mom made this dress!

The most Wonderful Husband

I have the most wonderful husband ever.

First off, though, I have to admit... Yesterday I was pretty sure that Philip had forgotten that today was our anniversary. He hadn't mentioned anything about it, (and I didn't really blame him, he has a lot on his mind with work etc.) However, I decided I wasn't going to say anything (and didn't show him the anniversary cards we had got in the mail), and wait and see if he said anything. (What a girl thing to do, huh?) =)

Well, when the alarm went off at 5 this morning, he rolled over and said, "Happy Anniversary!" I of course, was very pleasantly surprised. Since he is on Internal Medicine right now, we figured his schedule would be waaay too busy to do anything for our anniversary, so we had decided several months ago that we would probably wait until October sometime to actually celebrate it. However, since his schedule has been better than we had expected, I said this morning, "Maybe we should go ahead and do dinner or something tonight...although Keenan is pretty distracting at dinner.." He said, "Ya.. or maybe we can at least pick up something to eat". I was fine with that, because I wouldn't have to cook!

Well... at 11:20, I took Keenan to his doctor's appointment, and since Philip works right there, he came to the appointment too (which he always does, and I love it!) When we went in to the exam room, there, sitting on the counter was a vase with three beautiful red roses and a card from Philip!

(He had apparently gone and bought them after work yesterday, and took them back to the hospital, so they'd be ready for today).

So, That was a huge surprise, and then I read the card... The message (printed) in the card said,

"For My Wife,

Many anniversaries from now.
when we have been together
for a very long time,
I wonder what it will be like...

Will we share extra blankets
to keep warm?
Count the stars
from our front porch rockers?

Dream older, wiser dreams,
or be contented
with the memories we've made?

Of course,
I can't predict the future,
but I'll tell you what I do know-
If we use extra blankets,
I'll still need to hold you close.
If we sit in our rockers,
mine will be right next to yours.
And no matter how old
or wise we become,
I'll still want the feel
of your gentle hand in mine...

I guess what I'm trying to say is,
I look forward
to whatever the future may hold-
as long as my future
holds you."

Okay, so he's raking in the romantic points already, but then I finished reading the card and it said that he was hoping to get off work early and had already planned for Jodi and Cliff to watch Keenan while we went out for dinner! How amazing is that???

Closeup of the flowers and card

Philip you rock - I'm so sorry I ever doubted you! You're so much more than I could ever deserve....

And to finish off... here's a picture of Keenan at the doctor's office.

Three Great Years

Today is Philip and my third wedding anniversary! What a great three years it has been! Our anniversary always makes me reminisce about our wedding day and look back through our pictures, so here's a brief photo overview of our day!
